Jarvis Walker Bullseye rods, any good?
Hi guys,
Had a quick look at these in a local supermarket today. Seemed pretty well made and balanced.
https://www.jarviswalker.com.au/jarvis- ... -rods.html
Was thinking about the 7'3" version paired with a Sienna 4000 reel for light spinning.
Dinga have this model for just under 50 bucks, but I saw them for sale for a mere $29 (also looked at the 6'6" version).
Worth a gamble?
Cheers,
Mike.

Its my second fishing rod that I bought from Kmart ages ago. Still use it for trout fishing, the guides are not the strongest but pair it with a 2500 Sienna and you will be laughing. 4000 is unnecessary for this rod.

Lol I reckon he saw it at BigW. Celery sticks is the closest you can get at the supermarkets Or if you follow Andys fishing on youtube, he fished with a banana in one of his videos :banana:hornet wrote:Which supermarket sells rods ? I've never seen any ?

Yep, you got me - I meant 'department store'!
Does anyone else remember when you could buy guns and ammo at Big-W?

Your 100% correct we used to go to Kmart in Airport West and were be able to have a meal in their cafeteria and dad would buy his .22 ammo, I'm talking early 80's from memory.Brett wrote:mingle wrote:Yep, you got me - I meant 'department store'!

I bought a 2-piece 6'6" version a couple months ago and took it out to fish for trout.mingle wrote:Hi guys,

It's a composite rod so it's not as flexible as a graphite rod but still works perfectly fine with lures and soft plastics. I was casting pretty far with just a tiny lightweight lure on - I imagine it would do even better with a jig head or a sinker.
I paid $64 and it came with a 2000 reel, posted to my door. Spooled it with 6lb mono. The reel isn't anything to write home about but it works fine, no issues with it. Worth buying if you're not paying too much and obviously expectations are reasonable. Not sure how long it will last but from what I've heard/read, it will serve you well as long as you don't abuse it.
