Splashed out on the 7'3" (2.20m) version yesterday. It was actually the 6'^" one that was $29 - the 7'3" scanned at $36...

I ummed and ahhed about laying down the extra $6 - since I buy new rods about as often as Halley's comet lights up the sky.

I noticed that the rod had one of those Jarvis-Walker special offer tags on it (for a pair of polarised sunnies and a watch) which hadn't expired, so I grudgingly stumped-up the wonga. Later discovered that you have to shell out 10 bucks for postage for the 'freebies', but since the Jarvis-Walker head-office/warehouse if just down the road I might see if I can sneak in and pick the stuff up myself - you get the idea I'm a cheapskate, right? :-)

Seems like a well-made rod and quite whippy and flexible, without seeming flimsy - although I'm still not a fan of largely carbon rods, as they are so fragile.

Will give it a test some time this week, maybe on whiting (land-based) or mullet/small salmon down at the surf beach.
