Re: Got this for such a steal.
You adjust the drag by, dropping the reel into freespool and then adjusting the drag cam on the side of the reel. It must be in freespool otherwise this adjustment won't work as intended. Don't bother with a windon, 50lb mono, plaited to a double and connect to your snap.

Or you can just do it yourself by placing the rod in the same rod holder you would use for trolling.smile0784 wrote:Best with 2 ppl.
1 person holds the rod with the reels on strike and second person pulls out line like a fish does but attached to scales.
If the scales read below or above 8kg.
Wind in line
Back drag off
Adjust knob near leaver drag twisting left or right depend on if drag needs to go higher or lower.
And repeat till 8kg strike drag

Re: Got this for such a steal.
Just make sure you learn to tie all the knots, don't rely on someone else to do them for you all the time.
A plait isn't that hard to tie, and makes it all the more worth while when you catch something, to know you set up the whole outfit.

With mono when i have to do a plat quickly on the boat i normally do a binimi twist.
Question is can you do a binimi twist with braid?

Re: Got this for such a steal.
Certainly can. I use a bimini twist in braid to make a double on lighter gear for kings
