Stradic fa 4000 issues.

Post by bowl » Wed Apr 26, 2017 4:10 pm

So after catching the salmon today,I noticed reel jam.
I would cast ,flip go to wind n would jam for a second then start windinng normally.

First thought it was braid wrapped around eye of rod.
So cast few more times n it would jam a bit every time n def was not braid looping around eye of rod....
Reel is less then year old.

Is there a rough edge on the oscillation block or something?
I'd be telling Shimano to get whatever it is fixed given its age and the price of those reels

Be careful, Shimano might be a bit funny about warranty stuff where their reels have been opened up by someone who isn't an authorised repair agent.

Call/email Shimano prior to sending it to them would be first thing I would do. Contrary to popular belief, they are decent with their warranty if you go straight to them instead of this bloke, that bloke then finally to them

correct. shimano will sort it out, as long as the reel has been maintained properly and hasn't been opened by "an unauthorised person".

probably something to do with the bail trip mechanism

Really Steve you weren't thinking about how crap Shimano might be
