silstar TF-15 overhead

Post by crumpet_avenger » Mon Apr 10, 2017 6:51 pm

I got online the other night after a few cans thinking I wanted an overhead real as im sick of being bitten off at buoy 5 and 6 in Westernport. a few more beers and that was it. I got what the topic says which came with a free rod as well as ordering another 3000 mt of line,..

apparently it came with 8pd line but it looks a lot thicker. I was gunna respool it with 30 pd

how do I check whats on it now?

or do I just take it off and respool? as this is my first overhead... how do I respool an overhead reel?

Get a digital scale from Supercheap Auto or wherever and see what weight the current braid snaps at?

You might just want to re-spool it though, you don't know what the line is (maybe it's Chinese crap), how old it is or what has happened to it. Last thing you want is to lose a nice eagle ray ray or banjo because the previous owner used crappy line

Hahaha... its brand new.
Ive seen what bit me off. It was a bronzie.
My old gear catered for the eagles and banjos well enough.
