Don't forget the 3 spare egi rods that you need, just in case one breaks, or if you bust a leader. And one to remain on the rod rack at all times to make sure the rod rack isn't empty. And another one because you can't just have 1 rod sitting on the rack, it would get lonely!

All jokes aside regarding the egi rods. Provided the rods aren't getting in the way I think you are mad not to fill the storage you have available to you on a boat.

Leads to way too many missed opportunities. Eg a squid chases a bait up when fishing for whiting. Or a salmon school busts up when you're anchored. If it's there and ready to go you can generally have a legit crack. Last thing you want to be doing is hastily tying on a jig etc.

Even with lure fishing it's really nice to have a second rod there with a different lure on. Saves retying a leader or gets you back in the game if you lose a lure etc.

However you have to be careful not to go too far. The worst thing in the world is too many rods on a boat.
