am liking these Daiwa Aird X as they look a good reel for the money so
if you have one how long have you had it and what do you think about

Re: Daiwa Aird X 2500SH
I have the Aird 2500 and have given it a good thrashing over the last 2-3 years.
The reel still performs well but looks rough cosmetically.
Bit heavier than the Stradic Ci4 but excellent drag for the price.
I have the Freams too (older model) which I would pick over both but they are more coin.
If your looking for something pretty bullet proof I would recommend it. I've carted mine All over the country and treated it like crap and still take it every time I go out.

did you try a few of them, some are always like that and get better with a bit of use.Tackleberry wrote:well I went in to town to have a look and came home with my money and no reel .

and whats wrong with magseal? the reel will still work as a normal reel if it happens to fail.

Re: Daiwa Aird X 2500SH
DO YOU ACTUALL KNOW HOW THE MAGSEAL WORKS?????
the Magseal is not neccessary, and if the oil has perished the reel just becomes another standard daiwa reel.(aka everything still works as it should)
you do not need to replace it, if you dont want to.
besides whats stopping the water from getting into the reel from the cover plate, base plate, handle bearing areas.
if you dunk it in saltwater, its game over magseal or not.
