Shimano Caenan

Post by Fisho11 » Fri Nov 04, 2016 10:00 pm

Gday Everyone,
So my baitcaster looks to have died, been on the way out for a while and the worm is now pretty seized up. Ive had a look around at some of the deals and the Shimano Caenan looks pretty good value for money, $89 at BCF atm. I was just wondering if anyone has used it before and rates it? Or any other ideas on a budget baitcaster for under $130?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I picked up a used current model curado 200pg a couple of months back. I paid around $130 from memory. Going rate is around $120-140 on the tackle sales pages on facebook. finding someone that will post is the hard part.

Took it for a flick the other day. Very nice little reel. After learning on a finesse outfit the heavier cod stuff was a walk in the park.

Chasing Cod and Yellas mainly, will spool it with 15lb braid probably and then change that to 30lb when cod Chasing.

That's what I got this outfit for trolling n casting for cod.. I use 30lb leader does it's job. I originally wanted it as its shorter cause I walk the banks a lot but have decided to go a foot or 1/2 foot longer as it really helps with the distance!

Looking at the daiwa black label rods they look realllll nice! Haven't yet decided on a reel yet..
