Re: Good trout rods?
I've heard a few people say the Presso is a good rod. Personally I'd just find out what meppstas uses and go with that

Re: Good trout rods?
If you are looking for a specific trout rod I would avoid the gen black series as they have a fast action that isn't really suitable. The best rod I know of within your budget available in Aus is the presso (the 662 is more suited to general purpose work) and i f you can stretch your budget or find one on sale the presso iprimi.

Where do you usually go to fish for trout? Bigger rivers? smaller creeks?guppie12 wrote:Hi guys, I am looking for a trout rod that will last awhile. I would like it to be 2 piece and between $100-$200 thank you in advance.

I use a Daiwa Heartland XA 7ft ULFS 2 piece for wider rivers and for spinning with flies, because of the extra length it flicks really light lure/flies easily.
And a Daiwa Presso which is 6ft which I use in smaller rivers and creek for flicking small spinners, hard bodies and plastics.
Both rods are in that 1-3kg 2-4kg range I think.

Re: Good trout rods?
All the cool kids put shimano reels on Daiwa rods so if you get the Presso you should look at a symetre 1000 or something like thatguppie12 wrote:Thanks guys might go with the presso and what reel would go well with that?

Re: Good trout rods?
Have a look at the Daiwa Presso rods which are nice and in your price range or the NS Black hole hurricane trout rods. They are really nice also and under $150 from CH Smith marine.guppie12 wrote:Smaller creeks mateSinsemilla wrote:Where do you usually go to fish for trout? I'd go either a Daiwa 1500 or 2000 (I use a daiwa 2000) or a 1000 size shimano reel with some nice 8lb or 10lb braid.
