I fish the Goulburn a bit with a fast rod fair and do alright. With a fast rod you may have to switch to a good quality four lb mono or flourocarbon straight through to get some forgiveness and stretch rather than using braid.

Don't discount the gen blacks....even if they may seem fast, plus you can use them for breaming unlike a softer action trout rod

Edit. Actually just saw that presso's are rated as ultra fast.

Anyone know a tackle shop in or around the northern suburbs that sell the presso rod

Any tackle store that sells Daiwa products should have an account with Daiwa, they would be able to order one in for you as well..
