An egi rod could suit your needs. I use an 8'3" emeraldas for casting big lures at trout in lakes and i think it would be a great bait rod aswell.

Hmm...that sounds alright! Forgive me, but a dinga is something you put on your schlong isn't it? Lol.
Is this a similar thing to gumtree? Might have to speak to my mate "google" for some advice...

Thanks for clearing that up 4L! It's a fishing gear website, didn't know about that one!
The price is good. Might be worth looking into...

I forgot, there's also the better version: http://www.anglerswarehouse.com.au/prod ... _rod_10195

I have one, it's mainly used for beach fishing but I've used it for trout before. Casts a small Tassie Devil a fair way so the 13 or 20g ones should go miles.

A few good options there Redhunter. Just an FYI, the egi rods have huge butt sections for casting miles as they are designed for flicking jigs way out. They do work great on the tassie Devils but not sure how you'd go with anything much lighter. Let us know what you get.

All of the above are great options. For my light float fishing I have a 9" Double-Z rod, its 1-3kg, and super slow, so probably not what ur after, but I used to fish with a bloke that course fished, and this set up was able to achieve the same results as his custom english course gear.
