New fishing rod (land based pier fishing mostly)
Hey all, just wondering what others thought of this rod. I'm in the market for a new rod/reel combo and I really like this one. http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/prod ... mendations
Any thoughts and suggestions would be awesome,
Cheers Steve.

Nice and cheap can't argue with the price! What reel is it?

Doesn't say what the reel is mate, I no as much as you guys. I was at BCF on Sunday looking at a couple of squid jigs and really liked what I saw but it had $100 on it. So for the price I really can't complain. I've got the http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/prod ... mendations which I am really happy with. Is there much of a difference? My thoughts are that I will use the smaller one for squid fishing and have the new one out with bait waiting for that monster to come along

The price is decent. At that price point I wouldn't be concerned with babying it either.
When you get home after each trip just fully tighten the drag and rinse with freshwater and then shake off the excess and release the drag all the way. Should last you a while

Can't go wrong with penn mate! Majority of my salt gear is cheaper stuff 1) cause it doesn't get as much use as my fresh water gear 2) I don't and can't be bothered maintaining high end gear after every trip.
Only do it with my saltist combo n it gets very little use.. Should probably sell it...
