For spinning lures off the beach I use a Shimano Sienna 4000 on my 9ft Raider travel. Does the job.
Don't have to over complicate it
At the end of the day you will be casting for quote a long time so take your rod in and match it up to a reel that balances well and sits within your price range. If it's comfy in the hand, IMHO that is the most important trait.

But for kicking off, Sienna or sedona is fine, why go overboard, the sand will destroy most reels anyway, so keep it cheap to start with.
