This. Going by ratio only is fraught with disappointment. If I was after a surf spin stick the Aero would be the numero uno and only Shimano reel on my to buy list.

As for ci4 strength, only had rotor flex on heavy drags. Don't know how a stronger alloy spool flexes before the carbon/plastic body
and for me it was a toss up between the stradicFK 5000 or the saragosa
now that you've narrowed it down to two, find a store that has both take your rod there and see which balances better and feels best.
no point as i don't grab a rod buy the grip i grab it buy the reel seat with the reel

stem between the index and middle finger so 100g or 700 g it will still be top heavy ?

Really? Salmon dig in but they aren't going to stuff a ci4 in the process.

For the record my 9 footer is pretty light so it balances well with a 4000 ci4+. On a Catana id go the heavier reel for sure.
How do you find the knob on the 4000 ci4+? It has always been what puts me off getting one

I'd like it slightly bigger but it's good enough. I hate t handles with a passion.

Same. A little more rounded would be better though
