Vintage Shimano Stradic 1000FE

Post by Fish-Hunter » Fri Dec 11, 2015 3:25 pm

I fully stripped down & serviced, my now vintage Shimano Stradic 1000FE's. These reels i had since new, they are approx 20+ yrs old & cost me a small fortune back in the early 90's.

The reels are made in Japan, for anyone who knows Shimano reels, these Stradic's were way ahead of their time, the internal design is still very current even today, the reels still run perfectly like new & show no sign's of wear 20+ yrs since i purchased them.

p.s. They now are fully serviced, internally cleaned, oiled, greased etc

Holy Crap....... if I did that to a reel it would never work again.
They look brand new anyhow, have they ever been used ?

Top job

Great job mate. That small fortune you've paid many years ago is peanuts compared to the sentimental value and all the fish you've caught over the years.

Very good condition mate

Yes mate they are thoroughly used, but always well cared for, maintained + serviced yearly by myself, the reels have only been retired several yrs ago, they are possibly worthless nowdays, but they are priceless to me.

I still got the original boxes, papers, spare alloy spools et.

They are a credit to you Fish Hunter, I,m a Shimano fan and still using a 2000 Double Handle model from the mid 80's which I figure to be at least 30 years old. I wouldn't,t ever consider doing a pull down service like you but have had regular professional service over the years and still as good as ever. These reels were original made in Japan and not farmed out to other countries.
Do any other members remember the old Double Handle white reels?

Beautiful reel - Servicing at regular intervals a must /// Have 3 Vintage Shimano Stradic Aero 1000's, 1993 Model, and a Shimano Stradic Aero 2000, I still service them all annually, regardless of amount of usage - Still work Perfectly, as reliable as they come but have been banned from Kitchen Table.
