Rod to suit Curado 201HG

Post by Basti » Sun Dec 06, 2015 5:11 pm

Getting an outfit together to chase cod and I've gone with a curado for the reel. I picked up a new shimano raider today but that didn't end well at all so I'm looking for alternate suggestions. Relevant info is as follows

I'll be fishing in the yarra mainly, but may take trips out further.
Landbased lure casting.
using mono while i learn baitcasting but will probably run braid in the future
Brand not an issue
Budget sub $200
Happy to look at OS rods too if any would suit (Japanese/US heavy bass rods??)
also happy to consider second hand if they are quality rods

Thanks
Niroj

Ask bowl of he has anymore daiwa baitcasters he was selling before.
They are a great rod.
I'm not sure what rating they were though.

Pfleuger trions are pretty nice for around the price. Other wise check out something from Majorcraft, I'd say plat will have a Christmas special at some stage.

Trions look good. There's so many options from Japan in the 16-20lb range that I've made my self very confused. You should see the number of tabs I have open atm.

I would go for a trion and ask BCF to price match Motackle, which has them for $69 down from $139. http://www.motackle.com.au/pflueger-tri ... -deal.html BCF should be able to match it for $84 if they include the postage fee on motackle.

trions will be 40% off at anaconda in the next catalogue (starts tomorrow) or if that doesn't beat motackle they do a 10% less price match
