Telescopic rod recommendations please.

Post by hornet » Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:15 pm

Guy's I need help with telescopic rod selection, I always have a light trout rod with me when pier fishing and burley up for tommy rough and small salmon ect for bait.

I want to cut down on rods I'm taking so for this style of fishing a telescopic would be ideal, sometimes I don't fish for the small stuff so I'm effectively taking a two piece rod I may or may not use.

Something that packs away in my back pack would be better for me, I realize cheap telescopic rods have crappy actions but in this case it doesn't matter.

I had a look on the web for cheapies but not much around apart from BCF's ABU tracker telescopic rods or Rogue telescopic rods.

Anyone have the ABU or Rogue rod ? what's it like ?

Rod characteristics preferred... no longer than 6 feet and light action.. must collapse as short as possible.. reasonable quality.. and *CHEAP* as it's a standby rod.

thanks guy's.

I got the Abu travel rod pulled in this yella and a few others up to a 42cm. This was teamed up with a 2500 shimano reel. Great rods for drowning bait very flimsy with lures. All in all not a bad $30 telescopic rod.

Thx Blue, nothing like getting it straight from someone using the product, have you seen the Rogue rods close up ? is the ABU a better rod ?
