Gossa 6k ?
Hey all.
Being an avid fan of Alan Hawke i've purchased two lethal 100's and a cabo 40. Loving both reels. The cabo has an insanely good drag and the lethals are probably the best value for money i've ever spent.
I'm casting a Saltist Hyper 9'6'' PE6 rod, I'm feeling like the cabo is slightly under capacity and exposed to bad conditions, and the lethal is just too freaking heavy to spin extended periods with.
After some research, i'm looking at the Saragossa 6k as a middle line spin reel for rock ledges and heavier beach work. I like the gossa because it appears to be entirely sealed and weighs about 580g instead of the 900 or so the Lethal does. The drag is 10kg which is acceptable and hte capacity seems ok. A gossa 10k is only 100g more and also an option.
Does anyone who's actually used them have any feedback or anyone with fully sealed reels in the same class have another suggestion? Happy to spend $300ish, not a firm budget just a guideline. Would love a catalina or a saltiga but just can't justify it for what will be a part time reel.
I also considered the Stradic FJ, the Cabo 60-80 and the Pflueger Salt.

Hey Dougie i got a goosa in 10k size and love it. Light yet feels and is tough as nuts. Caught everything from small tuna to 20kg gummys, with some huge rays in between and it hasnt missed a beat and the drag is as smooth as when it came outa the box

Re: Gossa 6k ?
G'day Dougie, I've fot a 10k gosa and it is great. Super smooth drag and tough as nails, have caught GT's and big Spanish macs up north and big sharks/rays off the beach down here and it has handled them with ease. I've given it a fair thrashing too in the surf (dropped it in sand, covered in salt water etc) and it is still as smooth as when I got it. I also have a biomaster SW 8k which is a bit more expensive but definitely a class above...it's as smooth as my old man's stella and again has been covered in sand/salt water on the beach and it hasn't missed a beat.

Re: Gossa 6k ?
Do you know if the sealing is similar?

Sealing is similar. 6k for a 'heavy' spinning outfit should be good. The 10k are surprisingly heavy after a little bit of use in hand and a fish on

Re: Gossa 6k ?
I can get a bio 8k for the same price as a gossa 6k. Leaning that way. Thanks for the feedback.cobby wrote:Sealing is similar. 6k for a 'heavy' spinning outfit should be good. The 10k are surprisingly heavy after a little bit of use in hand and a fish on
