I like my Diawa stuff but the new Stradic looks like a nice bit of kit.

I'm sure the stradic will be another awesome workhorse reel. Interesting to see the marketing spin by shimano on the Hagane technology.

From allan Hawke.

3) The "HAGANE" technology Shimano has been heavily promoting is fictitious. There are no breakthroughs or new inventions here, and it's the usual marketing nonsense taken to new heights of vulgarity. How vulgar, you say? Look at how they went back and retrospectively marked existing reels as having that "technology", including the 2013 Stella and even the 6 years old 2009 Twin Power SW!

It used to be that they'd come up with a new feature then call it a catchy name, but now they just invent catchy marketing names and stick them to existing stuff that have absolutely nothing new in them. Unadulterated rubbish of unrivalled proportions.

This is the third trailer i've seen without a scrap of information as to why it's better than the last one.

You could, of course always opt for a man's fishing reel.
