Got this cheap rod off eBay, 8'6 3-6kg. Got it for about 40 dollars and I guess I got what I paid for. The rod is fairly stiff and nowhere near as flexible as even the cheapest egi rods in tackle stores so you can't replicate the aggresive japanese style jigging action. That being said its a good enough spin stick to cast lures land based for salmon etc.

Having said that I got a squid first cast on saturday morning off sorrento on a red foil harimitsu jig size 3 about 1 hour before high tide
