For a few dollars more you would have a perfect combination with a Rapala Maxwell 7 FT 2.4 kg fast taper rod and a Okuma ceymar 2500 reel.

I wonder if hornet ever got the rod they where looking for 6 years on?

I actually ended up using my rovex egi squid rod for both fishing styles, till now I've been happy with this, if I used a dedicated soft plastics rod I'd probably be disappointed with the rovex egi so best I stay with this set up, to be honest a dedicated SP set up for me would be a waist, with the rovex I do 80% squid work and 20% sp work. Best of both worlds.
