Quick update:

Met Shazac yesterday in St Kilda and he went home 5 rods heavier.

2 x used shimano technium surf rod.

1 x unused silstar surf rod

1 x JW combo, unused, got these from my previous FB market place purchase as part of a package.

1 x barely used T-curve Revolution 762 SP spin rod, maracas version :-)

For a beginner try using the ebay or FB braids. These work just fine and will not break your bank balance.

Check this out.

Visit Lohas. Shop 5, 332-338 Centre Road, Bentleigh. They have cheap braid 500M for $25. Don't buy expensive braid until you get better at it.

Shimano FX 2500 reel, its identical to the sienna except it has one brushing instead of a ball bearing in the sienna.

That will do it.

Take advantage of new member rewards/vouchers. Register with bcf and anaconda. You will get discount vouchers in the email. I believe it was $20 and another $20 on your birthday.

Good little reel, I have the sienna 2500 and the 1000 version of the FX. I have noticed they are basically the same, like the Shimano quick fire and the Shimano catana

I actually dont mind this combo for beginner use.
