Anaconda Seak Rapid Kayak

Post by dpunter » Fri Apr 11, 2014 5:39 pm

Anaconda currently have this Kayak on special for $399 - $200 off.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this kayak for fishing? Would they be any good or would I be better off looking elsewhere?

I am 6 foot and weigh 100 kg. Or my grandson is 5 foot and weighs about 65 kg if that makes a difference.

Regards,
David

it's a pool toy not a fishing kayak --

they dont have much in the way of specs but it has a max load of 120 Kg

So take your 100 Kg away that leaves 20 kg for all your gear , catch
it looks about 2.8 meters long which is at least a meter shorter than anything you would wont to paddle
any distance other than in a swimming pool

If you are looking at getting out in a yak on ether bay look for a 3.8 meter and longer
remember that you gear and clothing will add up to a bit of weight
and of cause all the fish you catch
My kayak PBs
Gummy shark 128 Cm - Elephant fish 85 Cm - Snapper 91 Cm - KG Whiting 49 Cm - Flathead 55 Cm - Garfish 47 Cm - Silver Trevally 40 Cm - Long Tail Tuna 86 Cm - snook 64 Cm - Couta 71 Cm - Sth Calamari 44 Cm hood - Cobia 117 cm

Not sure about the 'Rapid', but I have a Seak Swift - it's been a good, fairly stable little fishing weapon.. After much modification of course :)

Sorry for the late reply everybody but I have been up around Eildon way fishing with little technology to get onto the internet and post a reply.

Thanks everybody for the responses and it looks like I need something bigger like 3.8 meters or longer.

I will have a good look around at some specialist kayak shops and see if I can find something to suite.

Thanks again.
David.

Make sure you get out and try before you buy. You need to get a feel for what suits you and don't just go by the specs.

This kayak has been recommended a number of times and it's what I'll be looking at getting a little later this year.

I'm scared of the extra costs that will be involved in getting the yak though, like you say there's "stacks of modifications" to worry about lol, plus the safety gear, and the clothing I'll have to buy. My wife just might divorce me if I go ahead with the purchase lol.

It's still infinitely cheaper for you than owning a boat, and the paddling will do freaking wonders for your shoulders and triceps.
