Blairegowrie kayak trip

Post by GTSHoon » Mon Mar 03, 2014 8:36 am

Hi Guys,I went to Blairgowrie yesterday with the new yak and its safe to say i well and truly christened!!!
went out for a recon with the finder and didn't find any till i was in about 23m of water out off the break wall, so back in i paddled to get the rods and bait, using one of my old noodle stick rods and a crqppy reel i drop down a bait holder hook with pippy and smack straight on to a tiny flathead, spent the next hour drifting over some broken ground picking up heaps of small flatties and pinkies as well as a flatty that wouldve been an easy 40cm who spat the hook boat side! I had to go back in as something bit straight through my 12lb leader but all in all had a great time!!!!
i then went for a flick with jig nd caught my first squid the hood was only 10cm but still super happy the kayak went great and now i cant wait to go out again!!!!
Cam
P.S sorry about the lack of pics left the camera on shore by accident!

nice. next time bring some pre-made rigs. Troll a floating or suspending hardbody lure while paddling for a chance to snag a salmon specially when in gowrie area

Thanks fellas it was great fun, definitely a better way to fish, it was soured however by a d***head in a boat telling me to go back to shore where i belong then coming within 10 metres of my yak and proceeding to spray me with water, but you get one in every crowd i guess :/
