Gummy hunt at Lang Lang with video

Post by fishophil » Sun Dec 29, 2013 7:39 am

I recently picked up a cheap $50 gopro knockoff video camera and was keen to try it out.
So a gummy hunt was needed to be done.
The plan was to launch on a rising high tide at 6am, and be back in before midday, otherwise there wouldn't be enough water to come back in on, as there is a lot of thick gooey mud here if you don't pay attention and respect to the tides when launching or coming back to shore.
Luckily though I picked up my 2 gummy sharks pretty quickly and was back in by 9am.

Here is my first attempt with the new video camera. Of course the quality though looks crappy when uploaded to YouTube. Straight off the camera it wasn't too bad!
Need some tweaking with the positioning of the camera to get the results, but it came out ok I think.
To provide a bit more excitement I tried lifting them into the kayak when they still had plenty of life... They then just went nuts and took off on a run again instead!

It goes for about 9 minutes... Enjoy!

Yeah! I am pretty sure I need to get a little yak. Looks like a great way to spend the day fishing. Great effort on the gummies.

The kayak was over due for a swim, and I haven't had much spare time lately.
Where are you going tomorrow. I'm keen for another gummy hunt, although a feed of whiting would be yummy!

Brendanrage is coming down today and I think we will be hitting up ether Coronet bay or Reef Island tomorrow
there have been some big gar fish around as well as plenty of whiting
but ether spot is good for gummies out a bit wider

I'm working today but will be fishing tomorrow in fact I still have the kayak trailer on the car
