I headed to Lang Lang boat ramp this morning to launch the yak by 5.30 am ,the wind was higher than expected and from the Nth/west
so a quick paddle aross to palmers channel against French Island looked the go so a 3.5 km paddle into the wind which would have been around 10 knots or better
it was quite bumpy on the way over and by the time I got there the wind had moved to a NNW wind now there was nowhere to hide
no matter I anchored up and started soaking baits , the only thing I was catching was weed by the bucket load
after the tide turned to come in around 8.30 so I moved back across toward the main land side the wind had slowed a little it was now wind against tide and the weed was still a problem
by 10.30 it was time to slide back to the caravan park and bot a cup of coffey
so around 11 it was back to try and find a fish by now I had some company ( my mate Mal had slept in and missed the early tide )
anyway it was back toward palmers point 3.2 kms and sat in a channel there
Finaly caught a gummy not a monster but at 90 cm overall some welcomed fresh flake
I got one more under size gummy and that was it
pulled the pin at 3.50 pm and headed back was off the water by about 4.30
So it was a big day today and worked had for a keeper
