Hi guys - anybody got a decent inflatable kayak they want to sell me?
Would love a new Hobie Mirage or Sea Eagle, but so expensive!
Also - any feedback on the Sevylor Rio or Colorado? Can get them new atm for $300 and $500 respectively.
Here's hoping,
Tim

Only person I know who has an inflatable hobie is cobby. He would be able to give an honest review having used it plenty of times in tiger country.

Do you want the good or the bad?
The good:
Super stable. I can stand and fish on flat water in a 9ft yak. And I've had it out in ppb in an unpredicted 25knot westerly without much issue.
Easy to store tucking it's roller bag into a corner of the shed.
The mirage drive does a great job.
Can't speak for the others, but the hobie is fairly puncture resistant.
Now the bad:
Extra set up time.
Possibility of punctures.
Absolutely zero on board storage space. So everything you want to take has to be very well thought out on it's placement.
Very wind prone. They get blown around very easily.
They're a giant pain in the arse to paddle.
I'm not selling my hobie.
If you can in any way, go plastic instead. The limitations outweigh the advantages of inflatables in most cases

on release the sting ray said take that sunshine and it was a quick trip to shore with one side going down
but you are right they are fairly puncture proof - excepting angry sting ray tails

Those barbs can pack a punch :Boxing: especially on a ray that hasn't snapped parts of it off yetcheaterparts wrote:We had onr of the Vyak guys out on a gummy hunt near Lang Lang Beach and he caught his first sting raycobby wrote: Can't speak for the others, but the hobie is fairly puncture resistant.
