Rear wheel drive is better for towing than front wheel. Not so much a problem now, but if you upgrade that little boat for something bigger, all the power of the aurion will be going to the 2 wheels with the least amount of weight on them going up a wet hill that at times can be very slippery. Seen many a fwd car spin them all the way up Hastings ramps on lowish tides

Whilst 4WD is best for the ramp and RWD is typically better for towing than FWD. FWD can be an advantage over RWD at the ramp on occasion.

Low tide in winter with the rear wheels in the slime provide very little traction and they need a push/tow to get up the ramp. Not an issue on most PPB ramps and probably not at most WPB ramps but it is an issue at Welshpool.

Often the front wheels are clear of the slime and they are unaffected.

Thanks lads.
Yeah that's the problem with the aurion. It has a fair bit of torque and power for a fwd car.
If I'm going bigger it will only be a 4.1 of the same variety or a poly craft equivalent. .
I'm guessing that's fine for all of these cars to manage

You make a valid point frozenpod.
When we picked up the boat we had a test run and the tide was low. Had a Falcon towin and had some wheelspin.getting off the ramp. Cause there was a lot of slippry stuff on the ramp.
I could possibly buy another huundai Tucson. This time a 4wd one. But it's only a 2.7 litre. It may be okay I think.
Have to investigate further.
Cheers

4.1 boat would be under 1000kg which any of the original vehicles suggested will do easily.

Buy which one you like and enjoy it.

The only issue with the Aurion no ability to turn of traction control and the stupid foot pedal hand bake.

Yeah the foot brake is a pita. I didn't know about the traction control. Bugger. So no unintentional.burnouts then.
The aurion is probably the affirdable one. The others are doable. But have very high kms. Probably most of them are fleet vehicles
