Little school fishes

Post by deathray » Tue Jan 14, 2014 4:28 pm

Finally broke a long run of outs last night with this nice little fish from the Yarra. He took a big chunk of mullet for his size and was about 55cm or 5 pounds. Was nice just to finally connect with a decent fish and put a bend in the rod.
While a long way from being considered a 'jew' its always cool to see one in the flesh and then watch them kick away back to the depths.
Cheers.

Good on ya mate! A great buzz for your first Jew :)
There seems to be a few juvies getting caught lately. Considering they are such a fast growing fish, can't wait to see what comes out in another few years. Gonna be awesome!

Cheers :)

hmmm ? judging by the species of grass

the wind direction the way the grass is pointing

and the angle of the sun's shadow

my guess is up stream from the anglers hotel upper Maribyrnong

where the old wooden bridge used to be at the end of the road to the ex- munitions gate ...

( I've heard them crash surface mullet late at night up there while bream fishing )

I'm pretty sure he said yarra. Even if you know someone's spot. You should never give it away

That was a tongue in cheek reply from me if you didn't catch on.

and that was one of my fishing spots not the posters...

lighten up as if the way the grass points gives away some ones fishing spot *sigh*

Haha. I was going to post a picture of my front lawn and ask where I lived but it was dark and I couldn't be bothered.
