I've heard heaps of people saying they got busted off etc etc. I would start there. Btw, you can catch mullet off the same pier so i reckon you could go there catch a couple of small mullet and chuck them out later as livies you would have a chance!

Near there. If you google hmas otama it's virtually where that is docked. Can't access the pier. But I don't think there's a law about casting in.

I've spent many hours there myself collecting bait. Should drop down a livey one of these days.

just googled it looks a likely place, not sure if your aloud to fish there (landbased)

hastings jetty,last time i tried for jews there had two rods out.big one jews small rod for bait.had a live mullet out on big rod first which a stringray took,was out of livies so tried fresh salmon fillet which a banjo took.was out of fresh bait so starting fishing with bait rod for whatever.next thing jewie comes and take the pippie i had out.got a glimpse of it as it didnt realise it was hooked.then the run on 2kg rod with 10p line,hung on first run turned him round had coming back then off.

p.s I have caught a hand full of small school sized Mulloway in the past , but one day i hope to catch that 10kg+fish .
