Re: Mighty Mulloway
Good on you Abzz! Well done mate! Keep pumping those big livies out and it will only be a matter of time before you hook-up on that monster Jew.
G'day Mark,
I've found that early mornings or late arvos are the best times for gathering mullet. A burley mix consisting of bread, heaps of water, and a dash of tuna oil. Mix it right up so there are no bread chunks. This sloppy mix has worked great for me over the years. Use it sparingly too. A small piece of raw chicken for bait on a small long-shanked hook and a little patience, and you should be in business.
Cheers

Thanks Markfighting-whiting wrote:Very nice capture well done!
Been a few years since ive fished for jewies due to buying a boat, since now ive sold the boat and pretty keen to start given them another crack.
Just a quick question, how do you boys go about catching a few mullet around the warmies and west gate bridge area. I ventured down to the area yesterday arvo to try my luck at raising a few mullet but no joy. Noticed the water wasnt the cleanest eirther.
Cheers Mark
As red hunter said the sloppy mixture works very well, I just use little pilchard fillets for bait
Sometimes it could take a few hours for them to come on the bite
