Persistence is the key. Keep at it and good luck mate.
I find the quietest times of the night tend to be more productive (after midnight), but it's not always a practical time of night...

In the Docklands area - it's very much home territory, but that's no guarantee of success sometimes.

Gave it another shot last night - 3.30 p.m. - 7.45 p.m. on the river. Even with live bait out - no bites and really freezing. You can't say we don't try, though.

I did 12 and 1/2 hours along maribyrnong yesterday n got nothing either and I was after bream, seen a lot of other fisherman with same results so don't beat yourself up
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

I hooked into one mid arvo yesterday. Didn't stand a chance in bream gear :/

They are definitely still around, you just have to be in the right spot at the right time.
They are moving around a lot at the moment because there's not much fresh water coming down the river.

Yes, I tend to agree. I did get one series of bites on Sun. night that seemed highly suspicious. Late in summer they seemed to turn up almost anywhere in a certain section of the estuary. It's hard work in the cold right now ... but still worthwhile, no doubt.
