Thanks mate. I've caught three Jews now. All have been on paternoster rig with pilchards - even when I've had livies in the water. Doesn't appear to be much rhyme or reason to me... Keep putting in the hours!seephil wrote:Good Stuff Retortery! I'm still waiting for my first jewie...

Thats so interesting. Everyone always says use live bait or lures. How was the fight?

Hi Retortery,
Good to meet you this morning.
Pictures look awesome. Well done. I should've gone there this morning instead of where we ended up. It was on my radar to try as well. Anyway that's fishing.
Enjoy the rest of the day.

Fights was impressive! Very different from Snapper - i.e. more erratic head shakes and sideways runs. Almost killed myself climbing solo down the ladder with rod in hand to grab them... hahahaseephil wrote:Thats so interesting. Everyone always says use live bait or lures. How was the fight?

Seem to be a few around at the moment. First time fishing since the two above were caught and lucky enough for more success. Not a touch for three hours and then... Bang! And thanks to the guy who came running with the net too! Cheers bud.
Released to fight another day.

That's how it goes I guess! Strange cause I just got another smaller 60cm Jew.
