Santanic mechanic

Well I know enough car mechanics to get myself into trouble, so I usually get a mechanic to do things I can't or cant be bothered to do.

Lately the cool frosty mornings have shown up the deficiencies of the heating system in my car, with the heater at full blast, inside the car is only a few degrees warmer than the outside air temp.

So got the mechanic to have a look, and they said they had done what they could, and I'd have to have the heater core pulled out and cleaned. Now on many cars this a big and expensive job.

So I thought I'll flush the system myself, the worst part was getting the old hoses off, I bought new ones to replace them. Flushed the heater core both ways, put the new hoses on and bled the air from the system ( I hope).

Needless to say it worked, perhaps not as good has having a total core clean, but at least it will be a lot warmer than before.
