Sydney holiday trip - no fishing

Post by Sebb » Tue Nov 05, 2019 6:06 pm

So I took the Monday off and went to Sydney for the long weekend. No fishing.
Apart of swampy, I never fished in NSW. My mate that work there (fly from Melb now and then) said that there's a lot of fishing restrictions around the city. Since I planned to just be in the city, I didn't even bother packing fishing stuff, not even my travel rod.

Walked around Darling Harbour and the water was clean as, saw heaps of bream swimming happily undisturbed. Went to Fish Market and same there, happy bream swimming right on the edges close to people as if they're asking for food. Just like goldfish. Some of them would've been 40cm+ I'd say. And of course, no fishing sign was there.

I was to itched to fish!
And after all that, I went to Sea Life, watching big snapper and huge barramundi. No fishing of course, d'oh.

At the souvenir shop I saw this toy and I thought, put a hook and this could be the greatest lure of all!

I could still hold myself not to buy a cheap combo to fish though.
Walked pass a pawn shop that got rod reel on display. I held well and didn't buy anything fishing!

Went to Bondi yesterday and the first thing in my head was looking for the gutter, lol.
Walked around the sculpture exhibition that currently on and saw/took a great view/picture.
Not the sculpture, but the guy fishing on the rocks in the background! :rf:
And he caught some sorta rock blackfish.

And that was it. Hopefully some fishing back here in VIC.

No fishing :o_0:

That's like a kid in a LollyShop and not being allowed to have a Lolly

Well sounds like you had a great time anyway Seb, I love that you shark , , , , would go great with some trebles too.

But my only question, that Sculpture, is it mean to look like that on purpose or did the Sun melt it
🤪

Cheers, Bugatti

Was a great weekend getaway. Much better weather than Melbourne for sure. Was like 25-28 degrees sunny everyday with a breeze of wind.
Hopefully will get a red or two this season before murray cod season.

I like Sydney I just can’t afford to live there. I have spent a fair bit of time there with work darling harbour is teeming with fish once I saw a school of bonito there busting up. Driving around you see loads of boats parked in the streets due to the high number of apartments

The front of the aquarium all the way to the corner in front of Madame Tussauds entrance is the only area fishing is allowed in Darling Harbour. I fished the place a few times last April. The security people are polite and will let you know if you ventured out of the fishing area. I got caught a few times walking an inch followed by numerous inches more towards the crown casino. :rf:
