I know you're joking, but I got my P.B KGW (48cm, not a thumper but still not behd, 2 seconds in, not behd, not behd, good size) as bycatch on a half pilchard on a big hook. Might have been 5/0 circle. The big girls smash pillys.
Uh yeah I was joking... And whattt?? Really?? Kgw on 5/0 hook?? :notworthy:
Yep. Big time fluke though lol
Yup fishing of cowes in the deep offmten get big whiting on whole pilchard.
Try from somers to shoreham beaches for ting off the beach....
Yep my mate got a 49 Cm kgw on a whole pilchard with 2 5/0 gamagatsu hooks trying to catch a big red off a small beach near punch bowl :)
Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong

Actually loving the winter weather this year. Makes it easier to cope with not hitting the (fresh)water in the slow/closed season. Also, loving the rain - remember last winter being very dry, so was constantly fretting about the impacts to eildon water levels and other waters haha

Same here, got a date with the missus.
She let me go fishing, but ... Tomorrow... LoL, where the weather is totally the opposite of today.
If I'm keen, i might try Mornington or Beaumaris for whiting/gars, otherwise I might just go to 4x4 boating fishing show at the showground.
