Glad to hear you were with loved ones when it happened as opposed to being kilometres deep down a river somewhere. Think from memory you got a plb, if not make sure for next season you have one - i do as a last chance safety measure for those wild areas especially.

Glad to hear you are ok. We sent a guy home from work one day said he was not feeling well, he said he was going to his doctor but ended up sleeping it off , he never woke up.
If you have any chest pains get an ambulance great advice.

Yes I do carry a PLB with me at all times when trout fishing the rivers, actually my wife Pam bought it for me just in case something ever happened seeing as I always fish alone.. a May never have to use it, nut it's there if need be..

Your advice about not waiting to call out for help is really important. I had chest pains when exercising and flew to South Africa and had it checked out - was not good news so returned to Australia the following week for treatment. At least these days most artery and vein blockages can be fixed with stents so they do not have to cut you open. In my case unfortunately one of the 3 blockages I had could not be fixed with a stent so the cardio surgeons at Canberra Hospital did a first class job of cutting me open, stopping my heart, and then putting everything back together again. Three weeks later I was on a plane back to Africa. That was 8 years back now.

Am sure it will all work out for you.

Just got back from the Heart Clinic and the stress test plus cardio ultra sound gave me the all clear, :super:
it was supervised by a heart surgeon & cardiologist who said the heart was in good order, arteries & veins all clear..
great result.. now bring on the next trout season... :water:
