If your 20%+ disabled and can't work, your right
If you can work 15 hours a week in ANY job, then you don't qualify
By the time they let me go, I'll be 17 months from retirement age

Easy fix.
Tell the dr you can't work at all cos of knee pain and issues relating to the surgery.
Go to drs and get a Centrelink sickness certificate.

Apply for Newstart allowence and then certificate will make you exempt for looking for work.

Lots of people whinge and whine. When it comes down to it if you can work then you should.
I work for myself and can barely walk as i have a partial torn meniscus and an absyss behind me knee. I cant afford to not work.
If someone has been off for as long as you say tex i dont see why they should keep you on.

I dont know you or your situation but to run a company costs alot of money. Employees are employed to work. This world has become a joke.

I hope you all the best in your recovery but I'm sure there would be a job you could do even if it meant taking a pay cut. Clearly the compo joint think so..
