Not sure if you guys are aware of the project AGL has started at Crib Point without an environmental impact study. Hell they haven’t even been given formal permission by government for this.
As part of the project HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of litres of seawater will be used DAILY, sterilised and chlorinated then pumped back into the bay at a temp of 7C.
Large foreign ships will also frequent the bay to deliver gas adding to the risk of environmental disaster and increasing pollution associated with shipping on that scale.
If any of you care about Westernport bay and industrification of the area I strongly recommend you get on board and fight this atrocity.

Crazy how anglers are being locked out by overzealous conservationists in NSW whilst over here Industrialisation is happening without due process and consideration of the impact on our sensitive waterways.
It makes my blood boil.

I think they have started strengthening work on the jetty only at this stage. This project does looks like its buying back gas from overseas when its cheaper there than the domestic price, something NQR when we are the largest producer in the region.
It really doesnt seem wise to pump thousands of litres of chlorinated water at 7c back into the bay just to regassify LNG that we probably sold overseas originally.

I looked it up. 450,000,000 litres per DAY. Sterilised and put back into the bay 7 degrees colder.

So just above freezing at this time of year.

Also you won't be able to fish from the beach. Or from you boat. The exclusion zone is going to be about 300 metres.

Send an email to the planning minister Richard Wynne. Now. He must decide that a full environmental study be carried out. AGL is trying to get away without having to do that.

Hi Cobby, don't know where you got that information. That's in the past but the LNG importation proposal is a live option and every fisho and really everyone who cares about the bay should contact the planning minister and let him know that proper environmental studies must be carried out as what they want to do could be a complete f#%^in disaster for the bay.
