Chainsaw advice

Post by Thomassssss » Wed Apr 18, 2018 11:49 am

I’m looking for a medium sized chainsaw for cutting firewood and I’ve got two options in the local classifieds that are in my budget.

First one is an old Stihl 034, in good working order and the other is an Stihl MS192T, also used but much younger.

Does anyone have any idea about these saws? Both are around $500.

Cheees!

Tom.

Stihl are pretty good. If you can find one with a longer bar even better. Keep the chain sharp and try to cut wood before it gets dry (& hard)
I've got a Husqvarna and it hasn't missed a beat in over 10 years.

I agree with Matt. longer bar is better. my husky hasn't missed a beat either. Stihl should be just as good.

The 034 where a great saw and could handle an 18" bar at a pinch but did there best work with a 16", cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Go the 034. It’s almost twice the saw

Ended up buying the 034, great little saw. Looking forward to putting it to work at the end of the week.
