Winga is informative and knowledgable, and fishes the same region as i do so i watch a lot of his videos, but **** hes a tosser.
Kills me to say it, but Winga does fantastic videos (he explains what he's doing, close up shots of lures, bait presentation, etc)

Must be hard for fishing commentators these days, Rex Hunt set the bar pretty high back in the 80's
Agreed, although obviously guys like rex hunt and andrew ettinghausen are/were merely tv personalities hosting a fishing program. They aren't professionals in the field unlike brendan wing or paul worsterling. Basically every tip or piece of advice they would have given would likely have been pre-researched and scripted.

Not that their is anything wrong with that but they do seem a lot less educated on the subject than other actual professional fishos.

I find PW a pisser though, in a dweeby nerdy kind of way. Cops a lot of criticism on social media for some of the things he does, but if anyone else were fortunate enough to be in his position they would do exactly the same. I know i would.
Having met both ET and Rex you couldn't be further from the truth. Yes ET doesn't (or didn't when I met him) have the vast local knowledge of everywhere, hence his 'mates' he takes out for the show but the guy has more than enough knowledge and was still a bloody good angler in his rugby playing days. And Rex, him and yabby filling up boats full of Whiting back in the day. And having many a bag out session on his social trips, bloke more than knows his stuff...

also bagging out on whiting back in the day... not exactly something worth bragging about lol

I watch Jon B, Trout hunting NZ, Newmarchs fishing mission, Fish and whipz and Troutboynz semi regularly and then there's a few others that I watch a bit more sporadically.
Started my own channel to put vids up on instead of doing written reports over winter and I'm starting to get a bit of content up there, predominately light lure and fly fishing in freshwater and estuaries but I'm starting to a little bit of everything.

Links for all channels;
Hawkesy fishing (Me): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuxne9 ... lcbUCzQrcA
Jon B (super crisp edits): https://www.youtube.com/user/j0j0barz33
Newmarchs (Crazy energy and cool fishing): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL4TAi ... e5WqCZjXtg
Fish and whipz (Nice edits and good fishing) https://www.youtube.com/user/Whipzey
Trout hunting NZ (Great shots and some awesome fishing): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpXIkq ... fWcZowUnBQ
Troutboynz (Infrequent super dope fly fishing vids): https://www.youtube.com/user/troutboynz

We're talking boat fulls, not bag limits. Even the last time I seen him and whoever he was with not all that long ago they had 37 all over 40cm on a day when not much came in and radio chatter was of little. The bloke can fish, his son can fish and his son in law can fish.

Completely not fishing at all, but my favourite YouTube channel is the captain. Gotta love some boat porn

He also worked with Starlo and Bushy which is what really made his show great.

Lee is probably the best at explaining detailed rigs and fishing techniques IMO.

What happened to steve and bushy?
Havent heard of them in years

Not sure. We ran into Bushy at bermi one year. Heading offshore in his F15 hoping for a marlin.

Rex was/is very competent as an Angler his presentation style was popular with some not so with others. Bushy is keeping it real check the topic.

Currently I find Lee Rayner very good and like Al McGlashan’s photography.
