I never knew can you set a temperature on a evaporative cooling system?smile0784 wrote:Hi can someone tell me how to get the evaporate cooler to work properly.
I press the cooler botton and set the temp to 19c amd 10 mins later it starts but only blows hot air.
We open windows but the air never.cools down.
Even after a hr or so still hot air.
Does it need servicing?
Or broken

Re: Evaporate cooler
I rang 3 companys. 2 to 3 week wait to come have a look.
Geez its expensive to get some one out to have a look.
1 guy quoted $165 call put fee and $40 per 15 hes here and could take 45 to 1 hrs to diagnose a issue but then more time to order parts and fix problem on another day so upto 280 to find a problem.
2nd guy wasnt much better same call out fee but $20 per 15 mins but if its a water pump will take them 30 mins to work out.
3rd lady was $140 call out but no extra time it charge. But if its a water pump will another week or 2 before its fixed.
I wven explain that we have a 4 month baby and we need it fixed fast and she said if baby gets hot to take him to the shops lol
Can anyone help out and see if they can fix it (if its a simple fix) and ill donate some fish from the freezer.

Re: Evaporate cooler
i work in the industry, but unfortunately we dont service or install evaporatives.
this time of the year is extremely busy, so wait times like that are pretty normal.
if i were you i would forgoe the costs and get whoever can come first. or get yourself a portable cooler from bunnings for $200 as a temporary fix.
i was in a similar situation but it was my gas heating (in the middle of winter) and with the twins i had a nightmare, had portable heaters in every room to keep them warm. $245 call out fee for a $25 part and 10 mins of work...
