4x4 cape york trip

Hey guys havent been on in quite a while, working too much -.- but planning a holiday with mrs big gav in august seotember to the tip!

Having said that ive been spending alot just getting the car to a capable standard new suspension snorkel tyres etc

Was hoping id find a fellow member who has done it to give me some insight on the fishing along the way!

And to where i mightt try and find a fellow traveler with similair dates so i dont have to do the hairy stuff solo!

Yes big gav I can help...been to the cape twice and once out to turltle island off the top off the cape.

You will need to take a boat....a roof toper will be better than towing one....

Towing is possible but a roof topper you can rip off easy and fish the coastal creeks..

Im going in September and october this year but to the other side off the gulf.

Thanks for the replies fellas as much as id like to take a boat its not gonna happen spending al my coin on the car for the trip taking mrs to daintree cape tribulation gonna go to the tip via the ott can anyone reccomend any land based spots worth a shot? Definately gonna b doin some fishing cant wait

Alot of planning everyday reading threads about it font wanna forget anything

So far car has got new roof rack drawers suspension n tyres monday getting a fridge compressor recovery gear a quality camera misc camping gear new snorkel hopefully find the cash to install a heavy duty rear bar but dont like my chances

And a ring as i plan to take the plunge with the mrs at the tip!
