Sad to hear James is in hospital, apparent deliberate overdose (yet to be confirmed).
I would have liked to see him coach this year,but,it was not to be.

Sad to hear. Hope he gets the help he needs. In my opinion though not having him as coach is a good thing for essendon. We've had the whole supplements thing drag on for much too long and if he were to coach it would still be the focus. The club is better off without him

he made mistakes but the media were ******* ruthless in their pursuit of him (far more attention should have been on Dank imo) and this is the result

Don't get me wrong, I didn't like the way it was handled by all parties, in particular Hird's camp, but I would never wish mental health issues on a person, regardless of the circumstances. I hope he is on the mend and can get himself back on track ASAP.

It's unfortunate and I would never wish these problems on anybody hope he recovers and gets help if needed.
The whole saga has dragged on for so long and this is another chapter that the media can milk dry. Ironic that the same media bring these athletes in to fame and fortune. Being awestruck by sportspeople isn't my thing still this turn of events is sad.
