Fresh water Swimming

Post by Joker91 » Thu Jan 05, 2017 12:47 pm

G'day all and happy New Years !

I was looking for a nice quiet lake or river to go for a swim in.

I'll. be leaving from south Moran and I don't mind driving between forty five minutes to an hour.

Exact road locations and where to park would be greatly appreciated instead of the name of the lake

Hi mate!

Was swimming in Lake Eppalock before, water was warm and you can find areas with no boats. I was going for quick dips to free our line from snags though lol. There was a bit of wind so the water had a few waves and was quite fun swimming in.

We followed through Lyell Road, past the Twin Rivers turn off, then turned right into Spillway Road. Keep going until you see a right into Moorabbee Road. We turned left into Sims Lane and took a right onto Foreshoe Road. That road is right along the lake and has toilets, bbqs, and further up there's a caravan park and boat ramps along the way. There are areas of the lake that are prohibited for boats and you can swim there too, it';s just a matter of checking out the map.

One was posted in one of the recent Eppalock threads.

Cheers :water:

Wonder if that has fish in it , would be a laugh to have a couple of rods out .
Surely some carp, maybe even reddies
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.
