Best mechanic I know is Pino in Hoppers Crossing BP petrol station near the Hoppers Crossing Train station. Charges reasonably and has always been honest with us.
Give him a ring for quotes. Has always been happy to talk to us about any issues we've had regarding cars (from mechanical to sales issues).

The boilermaker at work highly recommended Borgs also. I think he got a loan car off them as well while work was being completed.
What problems are you having?

Thanks guys...

Being Saturday I couldn't find anyone open yesterday. I am a car enthusiast so I know my way around a little bit. I ended up going down to repco and buying a filter kit and 4 litres oil and gave it a sevice myself.

Car is a ford falcon with a 4 speed and it suddenly started slipped slightly. Seemed better and didn't slip when I took it for a test. Will see how I go and will take it down to Borgs the next free day I have.

You will need to give them a ring first // Ask them if they can do a "road test" for you first ( Usually free) - Often they can advise potential problem by doing this / Then, if required they can make an appointment to fix / Tell Adam that Russell from Fawkner with the VN Calais V8 recommended them Good Luck - Feedback after visit please.

I haven't had a chance to go down Russell and see them but I did give them a call. They said could be several different things but they would need to drop the pan to see what is happening. Possibly a sticking soleniod.

Anyhow like I said I dropped the pan and changed the filter and refilled the oil and it seems to be good at the moment even on cold mornings. Maybe the fluid level had dropped slightly but I can't see how as it doesn't leak.
