If you want new I'd seriously just get a BMT package from a custom builder like a Cootacraft, Bass Strait etc. and add the electronics, stainless work etc. in spurts when the funds allow or deals are found. Settle on a DFI 2 stroke (Optimax, HPDI to name a couple) and save a small amount of cash. They're still economical enough to not blow fuel budgets when trolling for things like SBT. And you'll have an absolute weapon of a boat.
Or go used. This Haines came up on a very quick boat sales search and would be infinitely better than the Stejcraft: http://www.boatsales.com.au/boats-for-s ... =13&eapi=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

F21 and Coldfront are better riding hulls.
Coldfront has a best layout IMO but they are all top quality commercial boats.

As mentioned check out the Bass Straight 6m boat, similar to the Edencraft 6m Offshore & based on the Haines Hunter V19 -600R hulls.
