trailer repair
Launched at queenscliff this morning which I tried to do yesterday. pictures of the repair should last a few years 5mm thick angle.
Any way headed out into bass strait knowing its going to blow up by lunch started a good berley trail couple of seaford logs plus tuna, at the same time bottom bashing for whatever turned up within minutes 6 albatross and a seal. We caught a few flathead but the seal stole them I hooked a ripper but was scared to wind it up due to the seal my mate had a plan he would entertain the seal with a fish dangled above the water whilst I brought the fish in it worked.
No sign of any sharks about 12 wind picked up so we headed home unfortunately work tomorrow.
There is also a pic of that seal my mates flathead in its mouth

Re: trailer repair
Nice work nude up. 5 mm should do the trick. Glad it was all sorted out with no injuries to anyone. What a great idea by your mate to entertain the seal! What a nice bloke

Re: trailer repair
Apart from stealing your catch, will seals scare away fish? I don't know much about them, we don't have them here in Shepparton!

Yes mate. Seals eat fish. When the seals are around, the fish leave pretty quick. If you do manage to hook a fish, the seal will rip it off your hook. You wont beat him. Lucky for nude up he had a clever mate in board to keep the seal busy.

Re: trailer repair
So if you are after sharks I guess it is not an issue! More a 'plus' as the seal would have to be a shark attractant (read food)!

Re: trailer repair
angle bar used - that guy knows what he was doing. Some will only add a flat bar. If he added a flat far on the remaining unsupported side to make the support look like U-bar, your trailer will last longer. By then you have a new and bigger boat
