BOAT HIRE RECOMMENDATIONS

Post by Dave07 » Fri Nov 08, 2013 9:57 am

Hey guys,

Me and a few lads from work (6 or 7 of us) want to hire boat for a day in the coming weeks as a bit of an end of year celebration.

We thought about going on a charter but not everyone are keen on fishing so we thought hiring a boat would allow us guys to fish, and some of the others to relax/drink up etc.

We thought about locations and wanted to head somewhere we have never been before, so on Google maps, western port looked like a place we would like to check out , although we are open to suggestions.

So the question is does anyone know of any really good boat hire places that have decent boats that we can hire for a day on a Saturday in that location? A few of us have our boat licences so there are no dramas there.

We just want something that’s big enough/comfortable enough to head out in and hopefully land a few fish while they are biting.

Any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

Cheers,

Dave

We get charters at end of year for work breakup and some fish and some just drink, you pay and they don't care what you want to do, I usually hire a boat for 1250 and 11 of us go out we get the boat to ourselves and plenty of room with 10-12 people
Catching nothing and still having an awesome time

Apologies for being a party pooper but those hire boat only allow you to travel only within the 3km radius (as previously happened to us) ... it would be be bored for your non-fishing buddies after a while.

For a group of 6, check out ProFishing Charters (Rob Harrison) .. very nice fellow with plenty of experience. He caters for group up to 8. Personally missed out a trip on his boat last year so do not have personally hand on experience to tell you but have heard many good things from others.

Hope this helps and have a good one which ever way you decide :)

3km is a vast area of ground, and if you read the reports from Yaringa and Mornington boat hire, there have been a lot of fish caught in close lately. If you also ask Paul or Johnny where they would reccomend at the time and what to target, you should do very well indeed.
