Cause on nice days they are fine but most mornings its cold, wet and if the weather gets nasty its not fun...
My mate bought a 6.8m centre console said the same thing.... I got heaps more space to fish....but than one season off snapper and due to work committments he couldnt only go on nice days so weekend if it was blowing he still went(thats when the fish go off more anyway) than this was his routine.... as soon as he launched, full wet gear on, drove to spot, anchor. hang wet gear up to dry and fish...once cloths where dry and time to go back in he would wear the wet gear and drive back to ramp.... by the time at ramp he was wet again.... He has sold the boat and now planning to buy a 650 offshore.... something with a cabin....

Also really depends on your type off fishing. if at anchor most times your gonna fish off the back not the front where your anchor is? Only really good if you drift fish alot IMO.... but hey what ever floats your boat, we all want different things and use our boats differently...

Me Im a sook, hate to get wet on a cold melb morning.... I like to fish in warmth or else it makes you feel crap and turns a trip into something not so fun anymore and you will end up doing it less.... Plus no way my missus would ever go on a centre console... same reason as above...

Beno,

dont take me wrong way! I not knocking centre consoles at all! I think they are great if you drift fish alot or sp alot...stuff like that....
Every boat is a compromise even mine.... and you have to weigh up what your needs are and if that style boat suits you thats all that matters! Also i am just talking in general as in what most fishos in melb... where in QLD or other states where the weather is totally different centre consoles are huge.... or places that bottom bash off reefs and stuff they love the centres...
